Earth Tones Native Plant Nursery plants are greenhouse grown from locally collected seeds of straight species plants, not exotic, naturalized or introduced plant species typically sold at conventional nurseries.

Early spring native plant seedlings are cared for by nursery staff in our all-season greenhouse on the hilltop.

Sometimes flats are used for initial germination, but the majority of our seeds start out in tiny pots called "128 cells" or "128s" then moved to "starter plugs" (32 per flat), 1- or 2-quart pots and larger gallon sizes for customers to purchase.

Native Plant Starter Plugs

Starter Plugs: We carry a variety of our perennial and grass plant stock in plug/starter sizes that are perfect when planting a large area. You must purchase a half tray (16 plug) minimum per species (one type of plant). Current perennial plug pricing ranges from $4.25-$4.75 a plug.

Starter Shrubs/Trees: We also carry many of our shrubs, trees, and vines in starter 1-quart sizes for $10.00 each. Shrubs are also sold in the plug size for $6.50 each. Not all of our nursery stock is available in starter sizes. However, if you are looking for a specific plant in the plug or quart size, just ask and we will be happy to check for you. Plant stock changes frequently as we're always adding new plants!
