This week the star of the nursery is our Lilium canadense, or Canada lilies. We started growing these babies from seed four years ago. Last summer, one bloomed. This summer we’re seeing many more beautiful bobbing heads! This is the first year they are on sale.

Of course, there are many other spectacular plants to choose from as well. Take our Asclepias tuberosa, for example. This milkweed can add a delightful splash of color to any sunny spot.

Just blooming now are our Rhexia virginica, or Meadowbeauty. Also sometimes called Handsome Harry, this little plant is found on sandy pond shores and peaty meadows.

Stokesia laevis, Blue Danube. Blue stoke’s aster. Our white variety is also blooming.
