Earth Tones Native Plant Nursery

Front view of the barnEarth Tones, LLC is a native plant nursery that offers grasses, ferns, perennials, shrubs and trees that are native to New England. We also provide landscape design, consulting, installation, maintenance and wetland mitigation services with a focus on environmentally sound practices. We do this by looking at your landscape as a part of a community.

Following the great forester and ecologist, Aldo Leopold’s Land Ethic:

The land ethic simply enlarges the boundaries of the community to include soils, water, plants and animals or collectively the land

When we look to the “land” for a design base we create a landscape that is comfortable with its surroundings and can function with little effort on our part

Our Goal is to improve the “land” one landscape at a time, by using native plants.

Why are native plants so important?

  • They flourish without synthetic pesticides
  • Rarely need watering once established
  • They provide food and habitat for wildlife
  • They contribute to biodiversity
  • They connect us to our home places and help us celebrate the things that make our regions unique
  • They teach us about the world of nature
  • And of course, they are beautiful!
